BUCKING HORSES SCORE BIG WITH TOP COWBOYS ABOARD
Lots of sunshine warmed up Kelly Timberman of Mills, Wyo. who rode Beutler & Son’s Spider Monkey to a score of 86 and placed him at the top of the leader board.
In saddle bronc riding, Billy Etbauer and Rusty Allen took advantage of good draws. Etbauer recorded an 85 on Beutler & Son’s Scarface and Allen rode Painted Smile to an 84 to place the two in first and second place for the race to the Sunday finals.The crowd of 9,250 gave Etbauer a warm ovation when he saluted the fans in his 20th Tucson Rodeo appearance.

TWO ROPING TEAMS SET NEW ARENA RECORD
Matt Sherwood, Queen Creek, Ariz. and Randon Adams, Logandale, Nev. recorded a 4.9 second run on Thursday. Today, Derrick Begay, Seda Pealkai, Ariz. and Victor Aros, Tucson, Ariz., matched the time. Both teams are credited with the new Tucson Rodeo arena record for fastest single run in the team roping event. The previous record of 5.0 was set by Wade Wheatley, Hughson, Calif. and Klyel Lockett, Ivanhoe, Calif. in 2005.
Bull rider Steve Woolsey of Payson, Utah posted the best score so far this week with 87 on Beutler & Son’s Little Marvin bringing the crowd of 6,875 to their feet.
