Bull Rider Douglas Duncan, Barrel Racer Lindsay Sears Set to Defend Tucson Titles
(Tucson, Ariz.) – Douglas Duncan, Alvin, Texas and Lindsay Sears, Nanton, Alberta, Canada head into the Tucson Rodeo finals in first place in their events increasing their chances of winning back-to-back Tucson Champion titles.
A clutch performance today made the difference for steer wrestler Joey Bell, Jr. of Athens, Texas. Bell clocked a 5.7 today moving him into second place in the aggregate and qualifying him for the Sunday finals.
Bull rider Tony Mendes of Pueblo, Colo., covered Beutler & Son Rodeo’s Brush Hog for an 85-point ride and a trip to the finals. Mendes, who has been absent from Tucson for the past few years, just recently returned to competition in Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) events.
The final performance on Sunday features the top 12 contestants in each event vying for Tucson Rodeo championship buckles and winners’ paychecks.
